Lanikai Beachwear in Kailua has a new name and address. The store, now called Aloha Swim Discount Beachwear, has relocated to a much larger space at 300 Kuulei Road (across from the Kailua library and police station).
The store is one of three retail locations owned by husband-wife team Scott and Kimberly “Bikini Kim” Brown. They also own Aloha Swim & Golf in Haleiwa and in Kaanapali, Maui. And they plan to open a new store at Waikiki Beach Walk next month.
“Kim has found that, in Hawaii, virtually everyone enjoys the beach, and so she has developed a strategy to ensure the best selection of beach attire for every body, and at reasonable pricing,” says Scott. “Fourteen years ago, she started up Lanikai Beachwear one block off the beach in Kailua. The little store quickly became a local hit with her ability to fit every body, from local paddlers, windsurfers and sun worshippers to tourists desiring to suit up for vacation.
