Award-winning designer Amos Kotomori launches his second collection of men’s shirts exclusively at Neiman Marcus at Ala Moana Center this month, targeting the romance market for grooms and groomsmen.

Here, he gives MidWeek an exclusive look at some of his newest prints. “These shirts are not only for special occasions, but they capture a feeling that makes every day special,” says Kotomori, a graduate of McKinley High School. “The concept of this photo shoot with MidWeek was about the groom giving the bride his final gift before the ceremony - the floral bouquet.”

The collection, called Kotomori-Limited Edition, features shirts that are made with a double weave of silk and cotton sewn by tailors, and French-seamed finish, so there are no raw edges next to the skin.

“The shirts have the feeling of fine fabric with an image that has a message,” adds Kotomori. “Each shirt is a giclee - a French laser process used traditionally for fine art.” Kotomori, who also is known for his beautiful designs in jewelry and gowns, released his first men’s contemporary shirt collection at Neiman Marcus last September. The shirts sold out within the first week and orders were taken for the next shipment.

Kotomori will make a special appearance at Neiman Marcus Dec. 7 and 10 from noon to 4 p.m. Featured here is a selection of Kotomori-Limited Edition, along with gowns, jewelry and floral bouquets made by the designer.
