Face of Nu’uanu Fashion Show
Wednesday - October 24, 2007
Designers, models, fashionistas and local celebrities enjoyed Honolulu Fashion Week recently beginning with a Urban Pacific Fashion show and concluding with the second annual FACE of Nuuanu Fashion Show.
Founded by Takeo, Eric Chandler of 2Couture and gallery owner Sandy Pohl, the FACE of Nuuanu Fashion Show was executed on a much smaller scale than last year, with no stage and a smaller runway area.
However, this year’s fashion show made up for it in a big way with New York couture designer Michael Kaye, who presented his Island-inspired evening gown collection during the event.
Also, 30 up-and-coming local designers and their models took to the red-carpet runway offering new and creative styles to an enthusiastic downtown crowd. This year’s youngest designer was 9-year-old Tiger Tam, who created Chinese-inspired fashions.
