“A very hot item for Father’s Day, which is really a gift the family could enjoy, is a flat panel LCD or plasma TV,” says Phil Chang, advertising manager at Sears-Hawaii District. “Also much in demand are DVD camcorders and hard drive camcorders.”

“For the handyman, we have everything from a simple hammer to 203-piece tool sets,” says Chang. “Many dads are also more health conscious, and just about every type of exercise equipment is on sale.
“Also, apparel is always appreciated, and it’s not just another aloha shirt. We have the latest prints and fabrics from Hawaii’s leading manufacturers, and this week they’re all on sale.”
