In business for just four years, local label Fighting Eel has quickly made its way into the closet of many of Hawaii’s best-dressed ladies, as well as some of Hollywood’s most popular celebrities, including Hayden Panettiere, Mischa Barton, Paris Hilton and Jamie-Lynn Sigler.
“Our clothes are simple and a little sexy,” says Rona Bennett, who founded the company with childhood friend Lan Chung. “Also, our pieces are easy to wear because you can change the look of our clothes just by changing your shoes or accessories. We like to make girls “go to” pieces - when all else fails, you can go to a Fighting Eel dress and know you’ll look great.”
Featured here is Fighting Eel’s Holiday 2007 collection available in stores Oct. 15. “For this collection, we made comfortable and dazzling holiday dresses, and there is something for everyone,” says Bennett. “Also, we’ve designed our first print with artwork by local artist and friend April Lee.”
Locally, the Holiday collection will be available at The Butik, Rafael, Mary Z’s, Second Skin, Pineapple County and Koko Cabana.
