The Kailua resident started Hawaiian Hula Girl in 2001, using her experience in and out of the water to create extremely flattering, yet functional swimsuits. Her designs were also featured on the Fox television series North Shore, and have captured the attention of retailers throughout

Hawaii, on the Mainland and in Australia.

“I think we’re seeing a trend toward more feminine and flattering swimwear,” says Ireland on the current trends in swimwear. “The harsher urban/street wear look is being replaced by a softer, prettier, more glamorous look. We are seeing girls who aren’t afraid to look like girls.”

The Hawaiian Hula Girl 2005 Spring/Summer line features unique custom-designed tropical prints, beautiful colors, romantic detailing, luxurious fabrics, and loads of mix-and-match options.

“But it’s the extremely flattering fit that really sets this line apart,” adds Ireland. “Each style goes through iteration after iteration until the fit is perfect.”

Hawaiian Hula Girl swimsuits can be found at By the Beach in Waikiki, Cosmopolitan Sun Shop in Hawaii Kai, Lanikai Beachwear, the Navy Exchange in Pearl City, Bikini Bubbles in Lahaina, and in stores across California, Florida, South

Carolina and more. For details, visit www.hawaiianhulagirl.com
