Honolulu Community College Fashion Technology Program presents Transitopia, a Student Designer Showcase, April 23 at the HCC automotive department (445 Kokea St.).
The show will open with a presentation by the fashion technology department, followed by “mini shows” by the graduating seniors, each showcasing their individual collections with its own set and theme. There also will be a presentation by the freshman class, and a special appearance by Project Runway season 8 contestants Andy South (who has since joined the HCC staff as an instructor in fashion technology), Casanova, Mondo Guerra, Michael Drummond and Christopher Collins. Featured here are designs by the HCC graduating senior designers.
Ticket cost for Transitopia is $25 and includes heavy pupu by Ka Restaurant and Lounge. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. A portion of the tickets sales will benefit the tsunami disaster relief efforts in Japan. Tickets can be purchased during school hours on the HCC campus, Building 27, Room 203/209 (874 Dillingham Blvd.). For more information, call 845-9203.
