Now, with son Lloyd and his wife Carla at the helm, IOLANI continues to work by the founding philosophy of the business - hard work, honesty and commitment to excellence while creating quality island fashions for men, women, children and hula dancers from around the world.
They recently celebrated the opening of IOLANI on Kona Street, allowing them to showcase their newest, most contemporary designs. “It’s been tremendously rewarding to see our new look become so popular,” says Carla. “Our men’s line offers two fits - the traditional aloha shirt fit and the new contemporary leaner shirt with added detail. Our Kamalei line is a sophisticated hula-inspired line that moves with the dancer. IO-Sport is the solid body men’s line made of our exclusive (moisture) wicking fabric. And IOLANI women’s is a collection of fun, sassy dresses and tops.
“The final piece to the puzzle is fit. With every new design and with every new fabrication, our designer Grace Tsutahara ensures the garment looks and fits beautifully. The result is simply stunning.”
Iolani also continues to produce its island attire in Hawaii. And if you’ve ever seen local band Manoa DNA on stage, they were probably wearing IOLANI. That’s because Lloyd is the D for Dad in Manoa DNA, while sons Nick and Alex make up the N and A.
