Proudly made in Hawaii nei — support local artists, designers and entrepreneurs at the upcoming Made in Hawaii Festival Aug. 18 to 20 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center.
Among the talented vendors are Barefoot League, a popular T-shirt company headed by former world champion bodyboarder Jacky Buder, and Oaks Hawaii, a trendy and colorful women’s clothing line by Roberta Oaks.
In addition to the many made in Hawaii fashions, there will be local food products, handcrafted koa furniture, one-of-a-kind jewelry, bath and beauty products, and original art.
While shopping, enjoy live musical performances by Hawaii’s top entertainers, including Melveen Leed, Na Palapalai, Aunty Genoa Keawe, Jay Larrin, Natalie Ai Kamau‘u, Sean Na‘auao, Nathan Aweau, Maunalua, Aaron Sala, Danny Couch, Holunape, and a comedy act by Frank DeLima.
The Made in Hawaii Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Aug. 18 and 19_ and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 20). Admission is $3; free for children 6 years old and under. One dollar-off coupons will be available at all First Hawaiian Bank branches on Oahu in August while supplies last.
