MAGGIE COULOMBE OPENS SHOWROOM IN CHINATOWN
Wednesday - December 19, 2007
Maui designer Maggie Coulombe has opened a new showroom on Oahu, offering not only her latest designs, including popular Balinese print dresses, but also a private one-on-one shopping experience.
In the last several years, Coulombe has operated a successful boutique on bustling Front Street in Lahaina and held fashion events in Los Angeles, New York, Paris and Tokyo.
Actresses Terri Hatcher and Halle Berry reportedly shop at Coulombe’s Maui boutique for her backless kimono jackets, Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses and rainbow-colored wraps. Also, Jennifer Love Hewitt was seen trying on some of the pieces from Coulombe’s 2007 collection at a trunk show during the Golden Globe Awards.
The Oahu showroom is located in Chinatown (1111 Nuuanu Ave. Suite 213) and is open Tuesday through Saturday, by appointment only.
“The showroom houses up to 30 styles at any given time and there are about 12 colors to choose from in her luxe silk knit fabric,” explains stylist Blaine Ashley. “Our goal is to provide a real private shopping experience to our clients. There are some immediates available to purchase on the spot, but most of our clients come to custom order four to five pieces per sitting and we prefer that.”
