Niketown 5K for Kids

About 8,000 runners are expected to trek down Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki for the Niketown 5K For Kids run on Sunday, Sept. 23, at 7 a.m. The 5K (3.1-mile) run is dedicated to youth physical fitness, with 100 percent of entry fees donated to an Oahu school physical education, play and athletic program of the runner’s choice. A NikeGo 1-mile run is also happening that morning. Entry fee is $20, or $22 with a 5K timing chip. Applications are available at Niketown in Waikiki (2080 Kalakaua Ave.) The event is open to the first 8,000 participants.
