Makaha Fashion Boutique celebrates its one-year anniversary this month with an expansion of its store and products, and a new name - Paradise Isle Kama’aina & Visitor’s Center. The store now carries clothing and accessories, fishing and diving supplies, kayak and surfboard rentals, and a variety of souvenirs. “We opened the boutique because there aren’t any stores like it here (in Makaha),” says owner Ursula Robles (pictured at right with daughter Kari La’a). “Also, we wanted to offer clothing that is affordable for the community. We have fashions for men, women, children and plus sizes.”

Robles, a 1975 graduate of Waianae High School, opened the store with husband Richard when they moved back to Hawaii after living in California for a few years. The store offers casual and formal apparel, including clothing from some local vendors.

Paradise Isle Kama’aina Visitor’s Center is located in the Makaha Marketplace (the former Cornet store) at 84-1170 Farrington Hwy. For more information, call 695-8866.
