Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii presents Jazzed Up & Wearing To Go, a family fashion show fundraiser Sept. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Japanese Cultural Center Manoa Grand Ballroom.
On the runway will be fashions by local retailers Kahala Kids, Calista, Valerie Joseph, Iolani and Up & Riding. Guest celebrity models include Mayor Peter Carlisle, state Sen. Suzanne Chun-Oakland and TV personalities Trini Kaopuiki and Jill Kuramoto. There also will be entertainment by 20 Degrees North, a silent auction, door prizes, craft vendors and more. KHON2 weather anchor Justin Cruz will serve as emcee.
“This will be our inaugural year for the family fashion show,” says Billie Takaki Lueder, Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii board member and secretary. “We are most known for our Teddy Bear Drive in April and Breakfast with Santa in December. We hope that this will turn into an annual event that people will look foward to year after year.”
Cost for the buffet brunch fashion show is $45 per person, $25 for children age 10 and younger. The Japanese Cultural Center is located at 2454 S. Beretania St. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit preventchildabusehawaii.org or call 951-0200.
