Japanese Positive Accessories brand Q-pot. at Ala Moana Center presents a Halloween Festival featuring a costume photo contest, a new Halloween collection and limited-edition Halloween novelty.

From the outside, Q-pot. looks like a cute and colorful pastry store. But inside, customers won’t find anything edible, instead there’s an assortment of fun jewelry, accessories, baby products and more.

The Q-pot. Halloween costume photo contest takes place Oct. 31 from 1 to 5 p.m., but applicants must pick up an advance entry ticket at the store starting Oct. 18. Tickets will be distributed to the first 100 people. No purchase is necessary. There are two categories (adults, 16 years and up; and kids, 15 years and under), and prizes will be awarded to the top two in each category. Participants will have their picture taken (with a copy for them to keep) and receive a free Q-pot. candy badge. Q-pot. was launched in Harajuku, the cutting edge fashion district in Tokyo, in 2002. The Ala Moana store carries five Q-pot. lines: Qpot. products, Q-pot. Parlor (confectionery-inspired items), Hotel du Q-pot. (amenities, such as house slippers, eye masks and towels), Q-pot. Baby and Q-pot. Lounge (higher-end designs). And coming next month is Disney Q-pot. At Ala Moana Center, Q-pot. is located on the mall level, near Macy’s. For more information, call 955-9330.
