Shopping for that perfect gift is not always easy, so it’s nice when you can have someone else do the hunting for you.
At Silvery Moon, April Will and husband Lawrence Masuno have teamed up to offer a one-stop gift shop featuring an eclectic mix of interesting items for almost any age group.
Will, who previously owned April’s Dress Shoppe in downtown Honolulu before moving to Manhattan to work as a rental real estate agent, moved back to Hawaii 18 years ago and handles the buying and marketing for Silvery Moon. Masuno, a retired nuclear engineer, is responsible for getting the store physically ready for business — painting the walls, replacing lighting fixtures, building the dressing rooms, etc. He also is passionate about photography and takes photos for the store’s fliers.
Some of the popular items you’ll find at the store include Baggallini and Lug products, as well as Jellycat stuffed animals designed in London, Clipa handbag hangers (which are used by some of Hollywood’s most fashionable celebrities, including Kim Kardashian — see photo G), and Lindsay Phillips slippers with interchangeable straps (photo E). Soon to arrive are Sole Mates, which are caps to slip on the bottom of high heels to prevent the heel from piercing the ground at garden functions, and Lindsay Phillips kid’s slippers with interchangeable straps.
