The day after Thanksgiving, commonly known as Black Friday, marks the official start of the traditional holiday shopping season.

But at Ala Moana Center, Nov. 27 is being called ThanksGetting Day, with stores opening from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a variety of deals, promotions and activities throughout the mall.

A ThanksGetting Cheat Sheet - a handy brochure outlining all of the early morning door-buster specials, allday in-store sales, promotions and events happening mall-wide - will be available throughout the mall at the Customer Service Center and mall-level information kiosks.

Participating merchants include BCBG, 7 For All Mankind, Victoria’s Secret, Anteprima Wirebag, Links of London, Dooney & Bourke, Vera Bradley, Disney Store and more than 90 other retailers. In addition, 1,000 lucky shoppers will be instant winners of a free tall coffee from Nordstrom’s eBar if a “You Win” sticker is present on the Cheat Sheet.

Shoppers who want to pre-plan their visit can download the Cheat Sheet at http://www.AlaMoanaCenter.com. A free valet parking coupon also is available on the Web site. Shoppers must present the coupon in person, and the offer is based on availability, does not include gratuity and is good Nov. 27 only.

There also will be six Refresh stations located throughout the mall offering complimentary bottled water and customer service assistance. In addition, customers who visit a Refresh station during the day can enter to win one of four spectacular prizes, including a two-night stay at the Outrigger Aina Nalu in Maui and $100 gift certificate to Lahaina Grill, an Aveda Beauty gift basket, dinner for four at Romano’s Macaroni Grill and a Club Monaco VIP card good for 30 percent off all year round.

And to commemorate Ala Moana Center’s 50th anniversary, shoppers can receive a free limited edition Big Santa ornament with $500 in holiday receipts, while supplies last.

The keep-sake ornament is a miniature replica of the big Santa Claus that appears each holiday season on the parking deck along Ala Moana Boulevard. Simply collect Ala Moana Center receipts dated Nov. 14 through Dec. 24 and redeem them at the Customer Service Center within the same time period for the ornament. Limit one gift per person.
