As a new mom with another one on the way, Jen Sarsuelo wanted stylish clothing for her and her baby, similar to those often seen on Hollywood’s most fashionable moms and babies, so she opened The Growing Nest at Ward Warehouse (ground floor, near Kincaid’s).

The store also features weekly music classes, art classes and mommy/baby workshops.

“I’m really passionate about having a store that is a resource for moms and having the best products available so that Hawaii moms don’t have to wait to go on a trip to get these products,” says Sarsuelo, who also owns Cottage by the Sea and the Hawaii Doggie Bakery.

The selection of maternity clothing includes popular brands Sweet Pea, Japanese Weekend, Velvet, Ella Moss and Michael Stars. The store also carries exclusive nursery decor by House Inc. and Caden Lane, as well as educational toys, books and DVDs selected by Kupono Learning Center’s Early Childhood teachers.

Stop in the store this week (Oct. 25 to 31) and get free Halloween balloons, kid tattoos and healthy treats for every child. Also, the first 100 children dressed in costume receive a free goodie bag.

The Growing Nest also is having a model search contest during the month of November for children ages 5 months to 5 years. For more information, call 591-2881.
