In her 20 years of experience in the fashion and beauty industry, Paulette Fukumoto noticed many young models with a lot of potential but little self-esteem, so she opened TK Image and Modeling to help. “In my work as a makeup artist for weddings, beauty pageants and proms, I found that many young women lack the confidence and the social graces that young women should have,” she explains. “So I wanted to offer a class that would teach young women how to be a lady.”
TK Image and Modeling (located at 918C Smith St. in downtown Honolulu) offers a charm school for teenage girls age 12 to 18, as well as a small retail boutique, a selection of makeup from Makana Wellness Academy, production services for fashion shows and a modeling agency. There also is a sister location in Madison and Co. in Waipio, next to Costco.
The retail boutique, called TK Style, carries a variety of women’s fashions and accessories.
A fashion show is scheduled for Oct. 23 from 5 to 9 p.m. with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. For more information, visit tkimageandmodeling.com or call 469-2289.
