Experience the powerful beats of hiphop, rock, funk, house, Latin, Brazilian and reggaeton as DJ RaviDrums takes the driver’s seat at Pearl Ultralounge next week Friday and again Saturday at RumFire.
“I’m going to be DJing and drumming, bringing that crazy punk rock, hip-hop California energy to Hawaii,” says Ravi, whose resume includes names such as Justin Timberlake, Pussycat Dolls, Will Smith and Maroon 5.
Renowned as one of the best percussionists around, Ravi has been in everything from Gap commercials, the movie Matrix 2, the Super Bowl and at parties thrown by Hollywood’s elite. But Hawaii, he says, “is one of the best places on Earth.
“I absolutely love Hawaii. I love the people, and I’ve being working and performing with Flash and Matty,” adds Ravi. “I’ve got a super high-voltage new show. It’s my first time back in Hawaii in a long time, so I’m really excited.”
Ravi brings his high-energy mix of musical movement to the Islands for parties hosted by Flash and Matty, Saab, Go! and Grey Goose.
“The Candy Bar” May 9 also will include a special fashion show at 10:30 p.m. It’s free before 9 p.m. and the 21-and-over party continues through 4 a.m. with the guest list closing at midnight.
