Makaha Sons: John, Jerome and Moon

Celebrate the sounds of Christmas with the Makaha Sons as they bring back their annual “Christmas Memories"concert and brunch buffet - happening for the first time at the Sheraton Waikiki’s Hawaii Ballroom.

The new location is a nice upgrade that the Sons are extremely happy about, and they say they have general manager of the Sheraton Waikiki Resort, Kelly Sanders, to thank for that.

“We brought the concert back because of our loyal fans,” says John Koko.“We’ve been receiving a lot of e-mails, asking us to do a Christmas concert this year. So,for our fans we decided to do it again. Another good reason is the Sheraton Waikiki Resort’s top managers are doing a lot to help us make this concert successful.”

So after a two-year hiatus,Moon,John and Jerome are proud to announce the return of their Honolulu Christmas Concert, happening Dec.15 at 10:30 a.m. Also making this year’s concert bigger and better is the impressive opening musical lineup. The talent includes Willie K, Melveen Leed, Hoku Zuttermeister, Leilani Bond and hula by Kealo Koko and Tunui’s Royal Polynesians.

On the menu are a whopping six salads, rice, mashed potatoes, corn and mushroom egg-drop soup, stir-fry chicken with Szechuan eggplant, fillet of steamed Pacific snapper with ginger, cilantro and green onions, oyster beef with straw mushrooms, seasonal vegetables and rolls. And if you manage to save room for dessert, the choices are chocolate dobash cake, tiramisu cake, coconut cake and pineapple upside down cake.

“Besides the delicious food and great entertainment, I think the highlight for this year’s concert is going to be when everyone gets to sing Silent Night with us to close the show,” says John.

Just in time for dessert, the Makaha Sons will take the stage to perform many notable selections from their album, Christmas Day in Hawaii Nei, as well as many other classic holiday favorites. And in typical Makaha Sons’ fashion, Moon, John and Jerome will be available after the concert to pose for pictures with fans and sign autographs.

Tickets cost $50 until Nov. 30 and $60 from Dec. 1.VIP tickets are also available for $100. For tickets, call 921-4600. For more information, visit www.makahasons.com
