Age: 28
Hometown: Kaneohe
High school graduated from: Mid-Pacific Institute
Musical occupation: I am actually a civil engineer and music is my hobby.
How did you get your start in music?
Since I was a kid I played all sorts of instruments. Then when I went to a recording engineering program in Los Angeles I discovered that I loved to record and write my own music. I dropped off a CD of my music with Kelly Boy Delima (Kapena), and he helped me produce my first album, FollowNoTrends.
Musical accomplishments? I just love to record and to share my music with everyone. That’s what makes me feel accomplished.
Ongoing or upcoming gigs/performances? I play twice a month at an art gallery in Chinatown called Soullenz Art Gallery located on the corner of River and King streets. I also do private parties, and I am playing at Borders across the Islands, and soon the Mainland. (The music is still making its way out there.)
What are your musical goals? With whatever success I receive from my music, it will be giving back.
What musical instruments can you play? To be honest, I play all instruments. I don’t have one mastered, but I play them all.
What are your favorite songs on the radio right now? Any Gabby song that 105.1 plays. Any good reggae that comes out of our Island stations, 100.3 and 98.5. And the rest I listen to music from my collection, which includes a lot of reggae, Enya, Gypsy Kings, a lot of world music and movie music.
