Take a break from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping with an hour of entertainment by some of Hawaii’s finest musicians every Sunday throughout December on the Plaza Stage at the Waikiki Beach Walk.
From 5 to 6 p.m., four talented groups will offer locals and tourists an island medley of music. The lineup includes The Performing Artist Academy, The Carmen Haugen Quartet, A Touch of Gold and Nihoa.
The Performing Artist Academy, under the direction of William Daquioaq, is scheduled to perform on Dec. 7. The children and teens will incorporate holiday, island and contemporary tunes in their performances. Following the Waikiki Beach Walk engagement, this group will perform at Disneyland and Las Vegas.
On Dec. 14, the Carmen Haugen Quartet will take the stage. Known for their pleasant mixture of old and new Hawaiian songs, Keith and Carmen Haugen are joined by pianist Ron Miyashiro and pakini (washtub) bass master Frank Uehara.

Next up is A Touch Of Gold (Dec. 21) performing classic oldies, Motown and contemporary tunes.
It is known as one of Hawaii’s premier musical groups and has been creating soulful harmonies for the past decade.
Finishing up the month (Dec. 28) is Nihoa, a duo comprised of veteran Hawaiian entertainer Andrei Puchert and Guitar Institute of Hawaii’s Mike Barques. Expect everything from Hawaiian falsetto to Hawaiian slack key, to country, to contemporary sounds.
And as a special treat, the Honolulu Boy Choir rounds out this year’s concert series with a special musical holiday treat on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 4 p.m. on the Grand Lanai of Embassy Suites-Waikiki Beach Walk.
