A Kaneohe transplant has won first place at the Society of Professional Journalists’ Northwest Excellence in Journalism competition for her TV series on Life Interrupted: The Battle Against Addiction. Allison Martin (Castle 2003) focused her four-part series on the meth problem in Central Oregon, where she works for KOHD News as an anchor/reporter. The entry was honored as the top feature news story in 2009 among five states for its market size.
