Waimanalo resident Rufino Dan Magliba joins another Dan - U.S. Sen. Dan Inouye - and his staff this month as a summer intern in hot, hot Washington, D.C. “I’m excited,” he told his college newspaper. “I can’t explain how excited I am.”
Rufino is a real joiner this year. Kaneohe filmmaker Don Mapes documented 10 years of that amazing journey in The Courage to Live: A Message of Love and Hope in 2000 ...
Good news, or the absence of bad news: Our libraries will have no furlough days in June or July ... Kiana Ahovelo will have no time for furloughs anyway. The 12-year-old Waimanalo singer just performed, again, at Staten Island Irish Fest and has launched a seven-city tour to promote her CD and supplement tuition fees at Interlochen Music Arts Camp in Michigan this summer ...
