A novella by Sandra Park (Kailua 1966) comes out soon from Mutual Publishing. If You Live in a Small House is about the life of a large family crammed into a little home in pre-statehood Kailua, and it’s earning big reviews. As one colleague put it, Sandra “blends action and reveries to evoke the texture and mood of postwar Hawaii in the lives of one Korean immigrant family. Reading it is like standing in Keaniani Lane after dark, peeking through the windows to the ‘funny kine house’.”
