Two UH students from Kailua began spring semester internships (full-tuition for 15 credits) with our lawmakers in Washington, D.C. Senior economics major Sean Callahan, 26, is working with U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa. He previously was a logistic coordinator for an engineering contractor in Djibouti. Elyse Oyama, 21, is assigned to U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka. She also is a senior in economics and psychology. Elyse is a peer adviser and heads the Golden Key International Honor Society at Manoa.
Interning here at home are Troy Thompson of Kailua with lone Republican Sen. Sam Slom, and Kaneohe’s Abigail Trenhaile in the city Prosecutor’s office ...
