Kaiser Koolau Clinic physician Vernon Ansdell is recruiting doctors for an Aloha Medical Mission to Micronesia. If it’s not too late, you can catch Hawaii Public Radio’s “live taping” of Aloha Shorts at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 in its Atherton studio on Kaheka Street (955-8821). Kaneohe’s Mark Lutwak directs the readings of original short stories, his wife Y York reads one of the selections, and Kevin Chang, Stan Tibayan and Kalama Cabigon of the Windward band Kupa’aina (including Mark) will play some original music in the show. A versatile fellow that I know well, Kevin (Castle ‘90), will also lecture on basic copyright protection to a group of Hilo students this month in a Volunteer Legal Services outreach. His last trip to Hilo featured his law lecture followed by the music of Brittni Paiva ...
