Dr. Daniel Fischberg of Kailua has won the Ke Kauka Pookela (Outstanding Physician) of the Year Award for 2006 from his colleagues and patients at The Queen’s Medical Center. It honors a Queen’s staff physician who possesses compassion, aloha, respect, understanding and overall excellence. Daniel specializes in end-of-life care. (2006 was a good year for him - he also was named Hospice Hawaii Physician of the Year) ...

The Japan Foundation tapped Le Jardin Academy senior Sean Gershaneck for a full scholarship to a language-immersion summer program at Kansai Institute in Osaka. Sean is one of only three American high school seniors selected for the two-week program for 40 students from around the world ...
