Dr. Tutu led a full life. As a young girl in Texas, she performed on the high trapeze with a community circus and later became a pilot, where she met her husband, “Van,” who was her flying instructor. She is survived by daughter Cheryl Merk, granddaughters Jennifer Killackey and Vanessa Distajo, grandson Eric Van Gorder and two great-grandsons ...
