It All Comes Out In The Wash

I consider myself to be a very simple man. No, not simpleton, simple man. What that means is that I’m not high maintenance; I require few things to be happy. I don’t need a whole lot of fancy trappings to go through life satisfied with myself and the people I care about.

Still, I guess I could broaden my horizons a bit, but what the hey, how much better can life get than watching TV while eating nachos? Seriously, I may need to set my sights a little higher in order to meet people’s expectations of me.

Two Saturdays ago I was driving my wife’s car after dropping her and our 8-yearold daughter off at our princess’ hula and Tahitian dance practice. I figured I would go and get my wife’s car washed, mostly so I wouldn’t get stuck with washing it myself.

As I drove by the Tony Autoplex in Waipio Gentry, I saw that they opened a brand new car wash facility. I whipped in and was impressed by the service I received. They even had an espresso bar which helped take the edge off my wait. I also noticed that they were open until 7 p.m.

After picking up my wife and daughter, we were at home when I decided I would take my truck in to get washed. I told them that I wanted to take them somewhere special that evening. I guess my wife thought we were going out to a nice dinner because she had changed into a fancy outfit.

I said, “Actually, I was going to take you guys in my truck to get it washed.” On the way there, I was raving about all the cool amenities the car wash had to offer. We watched through a window as my truck went by in the wash, my face pressed to the glass like a kid looking into a toy store.

As we drove home, my wife laughed and said, “Gee Pa, you think we can check out the new ice cream flavor at the Dairy Queen?” That’s when I decided I really need to get a life.

Ron’s WEBSITE OF THE WEEK

Our favorite Vegas expert, Kimo Akane, sent in a site with optical illusions that I’m still scratching my head about. It’s a long URL, but worth it:

Don’t have any illusions about sending me your favorite websites. Send them to me at: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
