Lord Of The Flies Gets Buzzed

How can getting a simple haircut put me at odds with nature? I guess it’s because Mother Nature has it out for me. It’s funny how one small thing can lead to another until you end up having to deal with a huge problem.
About two weeks ago, I decided to have my hair cut short, mostly because it’s been pretty hot lately and also because I just felt like a change. The problem with cutting your hair that short is that you need to apply some kind of gel or pomade that will keep it in place.
The one my stylist recommended was quite fragrant, but it did the job. I got a lot of nice compliments at work and my wife liked the “new” look.
Now, my kid brother just bought a house and recruited me and my wife to look at furniture for him to suggest possible furnishings. Naturally, we looked at INspiration, DeZign and HomeWorld. On our way into HomeWorld,my now nice-smelling head attracted a fly. It was like I had a leash on it that was attached to my hair. The fly kept buzzing around, and all my attempts to swat it down seemed futile. It was embarrassing as salespeople came to offer furniture selection assistance only to watch me waving my arms around my head in attempts to get the fly. Finally, I had a lucky swat and killed my little nemesis. Little did I know that all flies in this world are related.
That evening, we were having dinner at my in-laws, and sitting in the garage because it was so hot. Suddenly, one-by-one, flies started to amass on all the food I was sitting next to. It was so unusual that everyone couldn’t figure out why it was happening — of course, I knew.
I brandished a fly swatter and stood poised and ready to take on the attack. I was like Obiwan Kenobi striking down wave after wave of clones.
In the end I prevailed, although the food was literally covered with dead flies. I sat down to relish my victory. That’s when I heard a mosquito buzz by my head.
