Rating ‘Red Eye’ A Real Sleeper

Del.icio.usIf I were going to rate this story, it would have to be at least PG-13.
Anyway, here goes. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, inherits traits from their parents. In a lot of ways, I’m like my mom - laid back about everything.
From my dad I inherited an ability to snore so loud that scientists on Kauai can register it on their seismographs.
My wife got something that her mother does. That is, when really tired and falling asleep, she moans very loudly.
This has never really been a problem for us, at least not until recently. The other week I kept bugging my wife that I wanted to go, just the two of us, to the movies. She’s been really busy with our kids and their school, so at night when we can sneak out, she’s really too tired.
Still, my wife is a good sport and will try tod accommodate my request to catch an “adult” flick now and then. She said she would go with me to a late showing of the suspense movie
Red Eye, but not guarantee that she would stay awake.
“No problem,” I said and off we went.
In the early parts of the movie there is the plot build up, when the theater is relatively quiet.
That’s about the time when my wife fell asleep.
As tired as she was, the moaning commenced. It quickly occurred to me that it sounded as though we were at a drive-in movie - if you know what I mean. The moaning was quite loud and I tried to “shush” my wife by nudging her, but my efforts to keep her quiet only added to the scene.
We were starting to draw attention and I actually tried to muffle the moaning sound by coughing and clearing my throat.
Finally, someone behind us yelled out, “Hey you two, take it outside!”
That’s the story of my life. What people thought was happening, wasn’t. And even if it was, my wife would have been sleeping.
