There are two kinds of bottled water drinkers. First there’s the trim, energetic, healthy kind and second there’s the kind that wants to kill the trim, energetic, healthy kind.

I fall into the second category. Six months ago, I decided it was time to drop some weight —- again. I’ve been on the dieting yo-yo all my life because I can’t seem to grasp the simple fact that eating right and regular exercise will do the trick. No, losing weight that way takes too much work. I wanted instant weight loss. Two ways to achieve that are to believe infommercials or eat lots of cabbage soup.

I went the infommercial route, which had me taking high-tech food supplement pills and drinking a half-gallon of water per day. I soon figured out that the key to dropping pounds must be in consuming massive amounts of water.

That’s why you see all the beautiful people walking around with bottles of H2O.

Of course, you can’t just drink what comes out of the tap. You have to spend a few bucks and drink the water of these health gods. That bottled nectar has got to be EVIAN.

I ended up spending as much money a month on bottled water as I would for a Hyundai car payment. I really believed I was on my way to being the male Kate Moss, until one night I was hit by a bolt of reality.

I was ready to grab a shower when I decided to check my weight loss progress in the mirror. Standing there nude, I was drinking from my bottle of EVIAN. I looked at the reflection of the water bottle in my hand and saw that the label in reverse read NAIVE.

The pizza and beer I had later that night were the best in my entire life.
