Dental Implants to replace missing teeth or add retention to loose dentures have become the “Holy Grail” in Dentistry. Gone are the days when sound adjacent teeth are “cut down” to make a bridge to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Unfortunately if it was your “back tooth” a bridge could not be made.
Dental Implants are titanium screws that can replace one or more missing teeth. A minimum of 4 appointments over a period of 3-6 months is all that is needed for a tooth to be replaced. Usually, an hour appointment is all that is required to place the dental implant, about the time it takes for a crown to be prepared. Pain and discomfort is minimal and usually less than that of having a tooth extracted.
Getting more retention for loose Dentures is another treatment with dental implants that provides great satisfaction to denture wearers. A minimum of two implants is all that is needed in most cases to attach “snap in” their present denture.
