WOW! What a life changing experience this last year has been! Yes, it has been over a year since I first got brave enough to come up to your office for a free consultation, and how glad I am that I did. As much of a pain in the butt glasses and contacts were, I was of course still pretty hesitant to put powerful lasers anywhere near my eyeballs. However, everyone at the office was extremely helpful and compassionate and you guys had no problem taking time to answer all my questions or even just talk story. I wasn’t pushed into it, or talked out of it, and the no-pressure and friendly ambiance radiated from the Pan-Pacific office and the people in it was a welcome relief. While considering the whole idea of even getting LASIK, I did a fair amount of research before ultimately deciding on your office, and I could not have been more satisfied.
Since getting LASIK, I no longer have to worry about dealing with all the hassle that comes with wearing pesky glasses or contacts. As you guys know from our long chats in the office, I have worked as a backpacking, mountaineering, and rock-climbing guide in many different places throughout the years, and having LASIK has had an immeasurable and invaluable impact on my career choice. Working in New Mexico as a backpacking guide, I used to have to choose between either dry desert air or dust ruining my contacts, or sweaty glasses constantly sliding off my face. Furthermore, when we were out in the backcountry for over three weeks at a time sometimes, dealing with contacts in a tent every night was terrible. LASIK has changed all that and made my passion for the outdoors even more enjoyable, since I can now wander through the woods unhindered. Last summer I was able to climb some 14,000 peaks in Colorado and not have to worry about whipping wind and blinding snow. Contacts would fall out in the wind, and I can’t wear proper sunglasses with eyeglasses on, but now I’m no longer held back. And while it may sound cliché, even something as simple as my golf game has improved- and what I mean by that is that while I still suck horribly at golf, now I can at least see where my ball went so I can find it. LASIK has saved me countless dollars buying golf balls. I can see leaves on trees when I’m walking, I can read signs when I’m driving, and I can see expansive mountain valleys when I’m climbing. Every day I find some other reason why LASIK was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Even this summer I’ll be working in Alaska as a mountaineering guide, and thanks to LASIK, I will be free to see all that beautiful country has to offer. I could not be happier. LASIK really is a modern-day miracle.
While I keep crediting LASIK for my new and improved quality of life, I know it is really thanks to you guys at the office. If I hadn’t felt completely comfortable when I walked in your door I would never had stayed-which is what happened with some other places in town. I was valued as a patient and more importantly a friend, as opposed to just another customer. My life really has changed for the better since I’ve gotten LASIK, and I want to thank all of you for making it a reality. If you guys decide to put this letter anywhere in your office or your website or anything, I want everyone who reads this to know that they shouldn’t feel the least bit scared or hesitant to work with you guys to make their LASIK aspirations a reality.
It may or may not be the right thing for you, and the staff here will help you make the right decision. For me, it was one of the best decisions of my life. Pan-Pacific Laser Center has by far the most professional and personable staff in the islands. I sincerely thank you all for all of the generous giving of your time, energy, support, and professionalism during this life-changing experience. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, both professional and personal, and have no doubt you will help an infinite number of future patients see the world as clearly as I do.
