The Pussycat Dolls come to Hawaii for a concert June 13, and the lead doll is an Island-born girl, Nicole Elikolani Scherzinger

As little girls around the world sing along to the Pussycat Dolls’ hit song, When I grow up I wanna be famous, I wanna be a star, I wanna be in movies, lead Doll Nicole Elikolani Scherzinger is living that dream - a dream that began when she was a little girl growing up in Hawaii.

Scherzinger’s illustrious journey comes full circle this month as she returns home with fellow Dolls Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt and Melody Thornton, for what Scherzinger calls a “dream performance.”

“I’ve always dreamed about coming home and performing, so this is quite a blessing for me to end our tour in Hawaii and be able to perform for my family,” she says.

That’s right, locally born Scherzinger will heat up Blaisdell Arena June 13, Doll-Domination style. For the first time ever, the Dolls will serve up smokin’ hot dance routines, crazy-sexy outfits and hit song after hit song here in the Islands. Presented by Hawaii Pacific Entertainment, this concert is long-awaited by PCD fans and Scherzinger herself.

“We chose to bring the Pussycat Dolls’ Doll Domination Tour to Hawaii not only because of the group’s dance performance capabilities and sex appeal, but because lead singer Nicole Scherzinger is from our home, Hawaii,” explained Lincoln Jacobe, CEO of Hawaii Pacific Entertainment. “Local residents are always ready to support Hawaii musicians, and our concertgoers are sure to be wowed by hot, electrifying performances.”

Scherzinger plans to make this performance special by giving her Hawaii fans a little something extra.

“I’m going to be sure to make this show a very special show and unlike any other that we’ve done around the world, because I am home,” says Scherzinger. “So maybe bring out a couple special songs for Hawaii that I haven’t done before. I can’t wait; it’s going to be a great time and I hope everybody comes out because I’m sure they’ve seen a lot of concerts, but they haven’t seen one like this.”

If it’s anything like their music videos, fans are in for a mind-blowing good time. The group’s first hit single, Don’t Cha, garnered a considerable amount of attention. For those unfamiliar with the song, its chorus includes lyrics “don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me?”

During a recent trip home, Nicole stopped by the Power 104.3 studios

It’s a sexy little teaser by sultry songstress Scherzinger that had fans begging for more.

Their 2005 album, PCD delivered, and skyrocketed the Dolls’ success with equally sexy hits such as Stickwitu and Buttons, which were co-written by Scherzinger - earning the girls a Grammy Award nomination.

So what is it about Nicole, Jessica, Ashley, Kimberly and Melody that has captured the world’s attention?

Well, here in Hawaii, all the talk centers around Nicole’s very close connection with our islands. The Hawaiian-Filipino-
