Below are some highlights of what’s happening in the Central Oahu community over the next few weeks.

* STORY PLAY Oogles ‘n Googles presents a Thanksgiving program for preschoolers at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 6 at Mililani Library. Call 627-7470.

* BIG READ Ruth Hsu reads from Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Mililani Library as part of the Big Read Hawaii project. By Nov. 21, the entire novel will have been read out loud by participants. Call 627-7470.

* STRYKERS ON TV A video of the Stryker Brigade EIS meeting in Nanakuli airs on ‘Olelo channel 53 at 8 a.m. Nov. 9, 11:30 a.m. Nov. 10, 8 a.m. Nov. 16 and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 17.

* WAIMEA PARK Waimea Valley Audubon Center presents “Scoping Out the Stars” at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9, featuring a look at the night sky through telescopes provided by Stargazers of Hawaii. The center also leads a hike on the South Ridge Loop trail from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 10. Call 638-9199.

* FIFTIES BASH Wahiawa United Methodist Church hosts a Fabulous Fifties Party from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 10.Admission is $10, and proceeds support the local missions. Call 292-9396.

* PSYCHIC FAIRS Intuitive Entertainment conducts psychic fairs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 10 and 11 at Mililani Town Center (by Loco Moco). Call 239-2574.

* LITTLE LEAGUE Waipio Little League holds registration from 6 to 8 pm. Nov. 14 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Nov. 18 at The Batters Box, 94-410B Ukee St. Call 489-1835.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 17 and 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at Mililani Town Center; and from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at Wahiawa General Hospital. Call 845-9966.

* NEIGHBORS The Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at Wahiawa District Park; Mililani Mauka-Launani Valley board meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 at Mililani Mauka Elementary cafeteria; the North Shore board meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 at Alii Beach Park; and the MililaniWaipio-Melemanu board meets at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at Mililani Rec Center III. * OKINAWA FAIR Hawaii Okinawa Center conducts its annual Winter Craft Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Waipio facility. Call 676-5400.

* SINGALONG Wayne Watkins presents “Sing Along with Uncle Wayne"at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 in the Children’s Room at Mililani Library. The award-winning educator has a Maui TV show and directs the University of Hawaii Children’s Center. Call 627-7470.

* MILILANI STORIES Mililani Library conducts its Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays through Nov. 13 in the Children’s Area for keiki ages 3 to 5 years old, accompanied by a parent. Call 627-7470.

* WAHIAWA STORIES Wahiawa Library conducts Preschool Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays through Nov. 28 in the Children’s Room for keiki ages 3 to 5 years old, accompanied by a parent. Call 622-6345.

* WAIPIO MARKET Kaiser Waipio Clinic hosts a “fresh day” market of healthy food and produce from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Wednesday at 94-1480 Moaniani St. Call 432-2270.

* MILILANI MARKET Mililani High School hosts a Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. Sundays in the gym parking lot. Call 848-2074.

* MOMS The Central Oahu Moms Club invites stay-at-home mothers and their children to join its activities. Call 218-8524.

* TOASTMASTERS The Pineapple Toastmasters Club meets at 6:30 p.m.on the first and third Thursday at Sgt. Yano Library on Schofield Barracks. Call Don or Elaine at 622-0169.
