Below are some highlights of what’s happening in the Central Oahu community over the next few weeks.

* WAIMEA PARK Waimea Valley Audubon Center offers a class in making Hawaiian angels at 2 p.m. Dec. 16. Adult program fee is $3 plus admission. The center also plans a moonwalk at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21. Bring a flashlight and admission ($5 and $3). For reservations to either event, call 638-9199.

* HALEIWA PARADE The Haleiwa Christmas Parade, featuring the Royal Hawaiian Band, begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 at Weed Circle, goes through the town and ends at Haleiwa Beach Park on the theme “The Lights and Sounds of Christmas.” The North Shore Marketplace and other merchants will join the festivities with special sales and activities. * GARDENING Wahiawa Botanical Garden sponsors a class in propagation techniques at 9 a.m. Dec. 14. Call 621-5463.

* ROCK, REGGAE The award-winning L.A. rock-reggae hybrid band OPM performs Dec. 14 at Haleiwa Joe’s in Haleiwa. Call 637-8005.

* BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 29 at Mililani Town Center. Call 845-9966.

* CRAFT FAIR Mililani’s “Save the Best for Last"craft fair is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 15 at Mililani Uka Elementary School.

* WAIAWA TESTIMONY Public comment is due Dec. 24 on the draft EIS for the Waiawa residential development plan. Direct testimony to the state Land Use Commission, c/o Anthony Ching at P.O. Box 2359, Honolulu, HI 96804.

* WAIALUA STORIES Waialua Library conducts free children’s storytime sessions at 10 a.m. Saturdays through Dec. 29. Call 637-8286.

* MARCHERS The Menehune Marchers plan a 10K volksmarch at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 12 at Waimea Valley Audubon Center. There’s a small fee, and pre-registration is required to Carol or Dennis at 626-3575.

* WAIPIO MARKET Kaiser Waipio Clinic hosts a “fresh day” market of healthy food and produce from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Wednesday at 94-1480 Moaniani St. Call 432-2270.

* MILILANI MARKET Mililani High School hosts a Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. Sundays in the gym parking lot. Call 848-2074.

* MOMS The Central Oahu Moms Club invites stay-at-home mothers and their children to join its activities. Call 218-8524.

* YOGA Jasmiine Yoga offers daily yoga classes for all ages at the Weinberg Community Center in Waialua. Call 561-9639.

* TOASTMASTERS The Pineapple Toastmasters Club meets at 6:30 p.m.on the first and third Thursday at Sgt. Yano Library on Schofield Barracks. All those interested in improving their public speaking are welcome to join. Call Don or Elaine at 622-0169.
