Below are some highlights of what’s happening in the Central Oahu community over the next few weeks.
* COLLEGE AID First Hawaiian Bank and the Hawaii Association of College Admission Counseling present a college planning workshop at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at Mililani High School for parents and high school students. Call 842-8900.
* LEGAL KNOW-HOW Attorney Scott Suzuki, a volunteer with the UH law school’s Elder Law Program, presents “Get your Family Legal Affairs Organized"at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 28 at Mililani Library. Call 267-7470.
* KAHUKU HERBS Kapua Fonoimoana and Carol Anamizu present a free program on Hawaiian herbs at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at Kahuku Library. Call 293-8935.
* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 2 and 16 at Mililani Town Center; 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Pupukea Foodland; and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at Tony Group Autoplex on Ka Uka Boulevard. Call 845-9966.
* BOTANICAL ART Wahiawa Botanical Garden offers self-directed classes in botanical drawing and painting from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays, from Feb. 6 to May 28. Call Brian Koren at 621-5463.
* LPGA GOLF Turtle Bay hosts the SBS Open Feb. 11-16 on the Palmer course at the North Shore resort, featuring LPGA defending champion Paula Creamer and an all-star field of lady golfers. Call 792-9333.
* WINE The Wahiawa-Waialua Rotary Club hosts wine-tasting with entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 15 at Leilehua Golf Club. The $45 tickets benefit its scholarship fund. Silent auction items also are needed. Call 387-3771.
* WAIALUA STORIES Waialua Library hosts Toddler Time at 10 a.m. Fridays through Feb. 29, with toys from Friends of Waialua Library. Call 637-8286.
* MONEY TALK Kaiser’s Waipio Clinic on Moaniani Street has a “Better Money Management"workshop with Stan Jacobs at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Nonmembers pay $15. Call 432-2270.
* TOASTMASTERS The Pineapple Toastmasters Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Thursday at Sgt. Yano Library on Schofield. Call 622-0169.
