Below are some highlights of what’s happening in the Central Oahu community over the next few weeks.
* LPGA GOLF Turtle Bay hosts the SBS Open Feb. 11-16 on the Palmer course at the North Shore resort, featuring LPGA defending champion Paula Creamer and an all-star field of lady golfers. Call 792-9333.
* CAREGIVERS Christ Lutheran Church in Mililani hosts a free, four-week series on family caregiving, “Since You Care,” beginning at 7 p.m Feb. 12 at the church with financial specialist Gary Powell. Call 623-9229.
* MONEY TALK Kaiser’s Waipio Clinic hosts a workshop in “Better Money Management” with financial adviser Stan Jacobs at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Fee is $15 for nonmembers. The clinic is located at 94-1480 Moaniani St. Call 432-2270.
* MILILANI STORIES Mililani Library has a children’s storytime with guess librarian readers at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, from Feb. 12 to March 18. Call 627-7470.
* BLOOD DRIVES The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at Tony Group Autoplex on Ka Uka Boulevard, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 28 at Mililani High School. The Town Center of Mililani will host blood drives from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 16, 7 a.m. to noon Feb. 18, and 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 1. Call 845-9966.
* PROPAGATION Wahiawa Botanical Garden offers tips on plant propagation and pruning at 9 a.m. Feb. 15 and April 18. Call Brian Koren at 621-5463.
* CRUISE NIGHT Hawaii Independent Cruise Nights presents a North Shore Cruise Night from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 16 at Breakers in Haleiwa. Call 689-8673.
* NEIGHBORS The Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m Feb. 18 in the Halekoa building at Wahiawa District Park; the Mililani Mauka-Launani Valley board meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 in the Mililani Mauka Elementary School cafeteria; and the North Shore board meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 at Alii Beach Park. * ESKRIMA Kali Eskrima conducts classes in the Filipino martial art of stick fighting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays at Mililani Waena Elementary School. Monthly fee is $50. Call 398-0119.
