Below are some highlights of what’s happening in the Central Oahu community over the next few weeks.

* BUGGED LIBRARY Bishop Museum presents “Catch a Bug,” an outreach session in entomology, at 10:30 a.m. June 23 at Wahiawa Library. Call 622-6345.

* NEIGHBORS The North Shore Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. June 24 at Alii Beach Park. Call 768-3710.

* BON DANCE The Wahiawa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple has its annual bon dance celebration at 7:30 p.m. June 27-28 at 1067 California Ave. Call 622-4320.

* CENTRAL HIKE The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 6-mile intermediate hike to Pupukea and Paumalu at 8 a.m. June 28. Go to http://www.htmclub.org.

* CLEAN PET TEETH Hawaii Fi-Do Service and Therapy Dogs conducts an anesthesia-free, benefit teeth cleaning for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 28 at its training facility near the Pupukea Foodland. Fee is $100 per pet, and $25 is tax-deductible. Call 221-5698. (Bring pets in a crate or box.)

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7 a.m. to noon July 4 and 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 5 at Mililani Town Center. Call 845-9966.

* FIREWORKS Schofield Barracks invites the public to its 37th annual Fourth of July Spectacular July 4 on Sills Field. Planned are a Billy Ray Cyrus concert, music and ceremonies, starting with a 5K fun run at 9 a.m. (late signups by 8 a.m.) and ending with fireworks at 9 p.m. Call 656-3157.

* WAIMEA GREETER Waimea Valley seeks volunteer greeters to share the park’s history and lore one day a week for two-and-a-half hours. Call 638-7766, ext. 203.

* BOTANY ART Wahiawa Botanical Garden offers a self-directed botanical drawing and painting class at 9 a.m. each Wednesday in the garden. Call 621-5463.

* MOVIE NIGHTS Wahiawa Library presents Mystery Movie Night for teens at 6 p.m. each Tuesday in June and July with refreshments provided while supplies last. Call 622-6345.

* POLO SEASON Hawaii Polo Club has matches at 2 p.m. each Sunday. Gates at Mokuleia polo field open at 11:30 a.m., and admission is $8 (or two-for-one with military ID). Cocktails and Manny’s Huli-Huli chicken are available. Call 637-8401.

* ESKRIMA Kali Eskrima conducts classes in the Filipino martial art of stick fighting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m. Saturdays at Mililani Waena Elementary School. Monthly fee is $50. Call 398-0119.

* MILILANI MARKET Mililani High School hosts a Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. Sundays in the gym parking lot. Call 848-2074.

* MOMS The Central Oahu Moms Club invites stay-at-home mothers and their children to join its activities. Call 218-8524.
