* WAHIAWA MUSIC Higher Ground Cafe has live music at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at 70 Kukui St. Playing this month are Rob Yamanoha Sept. 6 and Tavana Sept. 20. Also, a Gear Swap Day is set for 7 p.m. Sept. 2 with music and jams. Call 622-0000.
* PERFORMING ARTS Sunshine Generation Children’s Performing Group begins classes Sept. 3 and 4 in Mililani for ages 3 to 16, beginner to advanced. For details, call 489-1998.
* ROYAL MUSIC The Royal Hawaiian Band plays a free concert at 1 p.m. Sept. 6 at Mililani Town Center. Call 922-5331.
* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 6 and 20 at Mililani Town Center, and from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Wahiawa General Hospital. Call 845-9966.
* OPEN CHURCH Christ Lutheran Church invites the public to an open house at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 7 for breakfast, a puppet show, balloons and displays from all of its ministries. Call 623-9229.
* POLO SEASON Hawaii Polo Club presents the USPA Amateur’s Cup at 2 p.m. Sept. 7, with music by the Jason Noone Band. (The Sept. 14 match is Chile vs. Hawaii, with music by Green Eggs & Sam.) Gates at Mokuleia polo field open at 11:30 a.m., and admission is $8 (or two-for-one for those with military ID). Cocktails and Manny’s Huli-Huli chicken are available. Call 637-8401.

* WAIALUA MUSIC The U.S. Navy Fleet Band performs a free concert at 4 p.m. Sept. 7 at Waialua Bandstand, near the old sugar mill. Call 638-5695.
* KEIKI STORIES Wahiawa Library launches its fall pre-school storytime at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 10, led by youth services librarian Jolene Miyaji. Each story comes with crafts and activities. The series meets on Wednesdays through Oct. 22. Call 622-6345.
* NEIGHBORS Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Wahiawa District Park; the Mililani Mauka-Launani Valley board meets at 7 p.m. 16 in the Mililani Mauka Elementary School cafeteria; the North Shore board meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at the John Kalili Surf Center; and the Mililani-Waipio-Melemanu board meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at Mililani Rec Center III. * HI-5 DRIVE Leilehua High School’s 2009 Project Grad committee collects HI-5 containers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month in the school parking lot. Call 542-1793.
* MILILANI MARKET Mililani High School hosts a Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. Sundays in the gym parking lot. Call 848-2074.
