* LIBRARY CONCERT Kauai slack key artist Cindy Combs has a free concert at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Mililani Library. Call 737-5424.

* NEIGHBORS Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Wahiawa District Park; the Mililani Mauka-Launani Valley board at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at Mililani Mauka Elementary School cafeteria; the North Shore board at 7 p.m. Sept. 23 at John Kalili Surf Center; and Mililani-Waipio-Melemanu board at 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at Mililani Rec Center III. * WAHIAWA MUSIC Higher Ground Cafe has entertainment from 7 p.m. on various dates at 70 Kukui St. Mililani Slam Poetry is Sept. 15, Ledward Kaapana Sept. 19; Tavana Sept. 20 and Power House Sept. 26. Call 622-0000.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Wahiawa General Hospital; 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Mililani Town Center; and 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29 and 30 in the BYU-Hawaii Half Ballroom. Call 845-9966.


* CHILDREN’S COUNCIL The Central District North Community Children’s Council meets at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at Leilehua Golf Course dining area.All parents of children with special needs are welcome. Call 655-4777.

* STAGE CLASS Applause! Performance Academy begins a Broadway training program Sept. 18 for keiki age 3-17 at 614 Kilani Ave. Call 622-1272.

* BUDDHISM Mililani Hongwanji Mission has an introductory series on Buddhism starting at 7 p.m. Sept. 18 (donation $20). The church also hosts a free Dharma Movie Night at 7 p.m. on the fourth Friday of the month.The Sept.26 show is the Akira Kurosawa classic, Ikiru. The church is at 95-257 Kaloapau St. Call 625-7052.

* BON DANCE Hawaii United Okinawa Association hosts its Autumn Okinawa Dance Matsuri from 5 to 10 p.m.Sept.20 at Hawaii Okinawa Center, 94-578 Ukee St. with music, food and plenty of bon dancing. Practice is at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the center. Call 676-5400.

* WAHIAWA TOUR Wahiawa Community and Business Association leads a free trolley tour of the town at 10 a.m. Sept. 20, starting from Center Street. Call 621-5109, ext. 226.

* PRIMARY ELECTION Central Oahu polling sites are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 20 for the 2008 Hawaii Primary Election.


* HIKE/CLEANUP The Sierra Club leads a 1-mile shoreline hike in Kahuku at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 20 to collect and count debris for “Get the Drift and Bag It.” Meet at the Campbell National Wildlife Refuge. Call 538-6616.

* GRAND OPENING Mililani Self Storage plans grand opening festivities, music, food and contests from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20 at 233 Akamainui St. in Mililani Tech Park. The public is welcome.

* SHRED IT Better Business Bureau sponsors “Tear It Up"from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m.Sept. 20 at Mililani High School where residents and small businesses can bring their confidential documents for free shredding, courtesy of Shred-It, to protect against identity theft. Call 533-4165.

* POLO SEASON Hawaii Polo Club hosts Hawaii versus Chile at 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at Mokuleia polo field, with music by Beach House. Gates open at 11:30 a.m., and admission is $8. Cocktails and Manny’s Huli-Huli chicken are available. Call 637-8401.

* TROJAN PARADE Mililani High School’s homecoming parade is set for 1 p.m. Sept. 26, from the town center and to the school stadium. Call 627-7373.

* ART WALK Haleiwa presents its monthly Haleiwa Art Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 throughout the town with entertainment, featured artists, pupus and sidewalk sales. Call 637-4558.

* KEIKI STORIES Wahiawa Library has a fall preschool story-time at 10:30 a.m.Wednesdays with youth services librarian Jolene Miyaji. Call 622-6345.

* HI-5 DRIVE Leilehua High School’s 2009 Project Grad collects HI-5 containers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first and third Saturday in the parking lot. Call 542-1793.

* WAIMEA GREETERS Waimea Valley seeks volunteer greeters to share the park’s history and lore once a week.Call Kelly Perry at 638-7766, ext. 203.
