* WAIALUA YOGA Jasmine Yoga conducts an afternoon fall youth program from Oct. 13 to Nov. 20 at the Weinberg Community Center in Waialua, meeting once a week with four separate age groups. Donations are appreciated. Call 778-5970.

* KUNIA ZONING The city Department of Planning and Permitting hears a request for a zoning variance at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 16 on the Hawaii Agriculture Research Center’s plan to retain the homes at Kunia Plantation Village and allow other uses and structures. This step is part of a partnership to keep housing for former workers. The hearing is in the City Council committee meeting room. Call 768-8022.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank holds donor drives from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 17 at Mililani High School; 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and Nov. 1 at Mililani Town Center; 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at Leilehua High School; 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 30 at Mililani Tech Park, 100 Kahelu Ave. Call 845-9966.

* BAND CONCERT The Leilehua and Mililani high school marching bands perform with others at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Menehune Classic at Moanalua High football stadium. Tickets cost $6 and $3. Call 839-6127.

* ECO-BAG SALE Mililani High students sell eco-friendly tote bags they designed for a “Go Green Mililani” sustainability project Oct. 18-19 in front of Walmart Mililani. Bags cost $4; proceeds support MHS career and technical education programs. Call 627-7747.

* NEIGHBORS The Wahiawa-Whitmore Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at Wahiawa District Park; the Mililani Mauka-Launani Valley board meets at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at Mililani Mauka Elementary; the Mililani-Waipio-Melemanu board meets at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Mililani Rec Center III; the North Shore board meets at 7 p.m. Oct. 28 at John Kalili Surf Center. * PUPUKEA ZONING The city Planning Commission has a hearing at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at 530 S. King St. on a zone change request for five acres in Pupukea, from preservation to general ag (for horse grazing), as part of a larger project by A Charitable Foundation Corp. Call 768- 8007.

* PROPAGATION Wahiawa Botanical Garden has a free class on plant propagation at 9 a.m. Oct. 24. Call 621-5463.

* eWASTE LCC conducts an eWaste drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25 to recycle residents’ old computers, cell phones, printers, TV sets and more. Go to http://www.hawaii.edu/ewaste.

* WAIMEA EVENTS Waimea Valley conducts an “easy to moderate” 2-mile family hike through the park Oct. 25, starting with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the visitor center. Fee is $5 plus park admission. A gardening class in Hawaiian plants is from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 25. Fee is $5 plus park admission. Call 638-7766.

* GIVING THANKS Haleiwa Shingon Mission hosts a Thanksgiving & Gratitude seminar from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 26 at 66-469 Pa’ala’a Road with guest speakers. Call 637-4423.

* CANCER BENEFIT Mililani’s Iwalani Tseu stages a gala benefit for her Pink Ohana Project (breast-cancer) from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 26 at Chai’s Island Bistro, featuring a fashion show, entertainment, silent auction and good food. Tickets cost $120. Call 699-1888.

* BANDSTAND HULA Waialua Bandstand presents Na Wahine o ka Hula Mai ka Pu’uwai at 4 p.m. Nov. 2. Call 638-5695.
