* LPGA GOLF Hawaii’s Michelle Wie joins the SBS Open Feb. 9-14 on the Palmer Golf Course at Turtle Bay Resort. Tickets cost $10 per day. Call 792-9333.

* PROJECT PIZZA Mililani High Project Grad benefits from purchases made Feb. 11 at Papa John’s Mililani. The committee also plans a tournament April 17 at Mililani Golf Course. Call 623-3817 or 623-7366.

* MEDITATION “Mindfulness Meditation” is offer at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and each second Friday of the month at Mililani Hongwanji, 95-257 Kaloapau St. Call 625-1022.


 

* HOLIDAY CLOSURES All public schools and libraries are closed Feb. 16 for Presidents Day. (Libraries are closed Feb. 14-16.)

* NEIGHBORS Mililani Mauka Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 in Mililani Mauka Elementary School; the Wahiawa board meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 at Wahiawa District Park; the North Shore board meets at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at Haleiwa Alii Beach Park; and Mililani-Waipio-Melemanu meets at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at Mililani Rec Center III. * CHILDREN’S COUNCIL The Central District North Community Children’s Council meets at 6 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Leilehua Golf Course dining area. All parents of children with special needs are welcome. Call Jane at 655-4777.

* BOARD CANDIDATES Those wishing to run for a neighborhood board seat must postmark or hand-deliver applications by Feb. 20 to the Neighborhood Commission. Call 768-3717.

* PETER PAN Hanalani Schools presents the play Peter Pan at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 and 21 at the Mililani campus. Admission is $3. Call 625-0737.

* WAHIAWA MUSIC Higher Ground Cafe has live entertainment from 7 p.m. on various nights at 70 Kukui St. They also offer kanikapila sessions for the public to bring their instruments and play along. The next one is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 21. Call 622-0000.

* NORTH SHORE HIKES The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 7-mile intermediate hike in Waimea’s Kamananui Valley at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 21, and a 9-mile intermediate hike in Mokuleia’s Kealia area at 8 a.m. March 1. Go to http://www.htmclub.org.

* DOG DOINGS Hawaii Dog Foundation invites prospective dog owners to get acquainted with adoptable dogs at a “meet and greet” from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 21 at Mililani Mauka Dog Park. Call 782-8387.

* RECYCLING Leilehua Project Grad collects HI-5 containers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 21 in the parking lot. Call 542-1793.

* WAIALUA MUSIC The U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Big Band performs a free concert at 4 p.m. March 1 at the Waialua Bandstand, sponsored by Sharks Cove Grill and Waimea Falls Grill. Call 637-4520.
