* BOTANICALS Wahiawa Botanical Garden has a class in the wili style of head-lei making at 1 p.m. April 28 ($15). Call 621-5463.

* NEIGHBORS The North Shore Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. April 28 at Haleiwa Alii Beach Park. Call 768-3710.

* SPORTS TV Laie-based Education-1st Hawaii presents its GPA, Play It Smart program at 6:30 p.m. April 29 on OC16 featuring student athletes Manti Teo, Transon Akana and former student athlete Mufi Hannemann as positive role models. Other airings are at 2 a.m. April 27, 3:30 p.m. April 28, 12:30 a.m. April 30, 9:30 a.m. May 2 and 8 p.m. May 3.

* CHORUS Koolauloa Children’s Chorus marks its eighth anniversary with a free concert at 7 p.m.April 30 in McKay Auditorium at BYUH. The event also thanks the community for its support during three years of fundraising for a trip June 7-14 to the East Coast, highlighted by a performance at the National Children’s Festival in Carnegie Hall. * HI-5 DRIVE-WAHIAWA Leilehua High’s Project Grad collects HI-5 containers from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2 and 16 in the school parking lot. Call 542-1793.

* HI-5 DRIVE-MILILANI Mililani High’s Project Grad collects HI-5 recyclables from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May 2 in the school parking lot. Call 623-3817.

* BANDSTAND MUSICWaialua High & Intermediate School band plays a free concert at 4 p.m. May 3 at the Waialua Bandstand (between the library and the sugar mill). Call 637-4520.

* WAHIAWA HIKE The Hawaiian Trail & Mountain Club leads a 6-mile intermediate ridge and valley hike along Kaukonahua stream at 8 a.m. May 3. Go to http://www.htmclub.org.

* PINEAPPLE RUN The 34th annual 10K Wahiawa Pineapple Run starts at 7 a.m. May 9 at Kaala Elementary School. Proceeds from fees benefit service projects of the Central Oahu Chief Petty Officers Mess, such as the North Shore holiday meal. Mail-in registration ends May 2. Call 477-6434.

* ZONTA SCHOLARSHIP Leilehua Zonta Club and its president Bernadette Pigott, along with five other Hawaii Zonta clubs, offer a $5,000 scholarship to women pursuing undergraduate degrees in business-related fields. Call Rene Mansho at 306-1876. Deadline to apply is June 24.

* HALEIWA MARKETHaleiwa Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays at old Kamehameha Highway and Bypass Road with more than 40 vendors of locally grown or made products. Call 388-9696.

*WAIMEA HIKES Waimea Valley has hikes each Saturday, starting with signups at 8:30 a.m. at the visitor center. Fee is $5 or $10 plus park admission. A stroll among blooming plants and fruits starts at 2 p.m. on the each first and third Sunday with botanical collections specialist David Orr. Call 638-7766.

* NORTH SHORE MARKET North Shore Country Market runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at Sunset Beach Elementary School.
