Below are some highlights of what’s happening in the Central Oahu community over the next few weeks.

* The Wahiawa Lions Club meets for dinner at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 6 at Dot’s to hear City Councilman Charles Djou and to present its community service and Every Day Hero awards. Dinner is $8. Call Rene at 306-1876.

* Oogles N Googles presents a Winter Wonderland program at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 7 at Mililani Library. Call 627-7470.


* The Haleiwa Town Christmas Parade begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at Weed Circle and ends at Haleiwa Beach Park. Santa will be on hand at both ends of the annual march, which is sponsored by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. Call 637-4558.

* The Koolauloa Lions Club’s North Shore Christmas Parade begins at 11 a.m. Dec. 9 at Pupukea Road and travels down Kamehameha Highway to Swanzy Beach Park. Also planned Dec. 9, a parade through Gentry Waipio, starting at 10 a.m. Call 671-2272.

* Laie Community Association holds its annual recycling and cleanup from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 9 in the BYUH parking lot. Everything from appliances to batteries to used clothing are welcome. Call 457-9628.

* Mililani Library offers a free “lap-sit” storytime for babies age 2 and younger at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 14. Call 627-7470.

* The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9 and 23 at Mililani Town Center; 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 20 at Waialua High School gym; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 21 at Mililani Tech Park. Call 845-9966.


* Intuitive Entertainment presents Psychic Fairs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 9 and 10 at the Mililani Town Center. Call 239-2574.

* Helemano Plantation’s annual ORI gala benefit, Support Tomorrow’s Dream Today, is from 5 to 11 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. For tickets, call 622-3929 by Dec. 8.

* Waialua Library presents Christmas Fun with Santa and Friends at 10 a.m. Dec. 16 with stories, ornament making, presents, Santa and his elf. Call 637-8286.

* Mililani Uka Elementary School hosts “Mililani’s Save the Best for Last” craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 16. Call 676-5886.

* All Central and North Shore neighborhood boards will take a recess in December from their monthly meetings. For updates, call 527-5749.

* North Shore Artists Studio Tour - a team of six artists from Turtle Bay to Kaena Point - open their studios to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Tuesday. Call 637-8934.

* The Central Oahu Moms Club invites stay-at-home mothers and their children to join its activities. For more information, all 218-8524.
