* YOGA Jamie McCormick teaches a Vinyasa Flow yoga class beginning Aug. 3 at Waialua Community Association. The classes meet at 5:15 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday at the center, 66-434 Kamehemeha Hwy. Fee is $10, and it’s open to all abilities. Bring a mat. Call 637-4606.

* BLOOD DRIVE Hawaii Blood Bank conducts a donor drive from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 9 at Mililani Town Center. Call 845-9966.

* NEIGHBORS Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Aug. 17 at Wahiawa District Park, Mililani Mauka meets at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at Mililani Mauka Elementary School cafeteria, North Shore meets at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at Haleiwa Alii Beach Park and Mililani-Waipio-Melemanu meets at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at Mililani Rec Center III. * POLO Hawaii Polo Club hosts an Argentina vs. Hawaii match at 2 p.m. Aug. 9 on Mokuleia Polo Field. The final match of the season is Aug. 16 with the same teams. Admission is $8. Call 688-3154.

* DOG ADOPTIONS Hawaii Dog Foundation hosts a “meet and greet” session from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 15 and noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 29 at Mililani Mauka Dog Park so prospective adoptive families can get acquainted with the foundation’s homeless dogs. Call 782-8387.

* BUILDING HEARING The city Department of Planning and Permitting conducts a hearing at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 18 at Haleiwa Surf Center on a special management area use permit for a new three-story commercial building at 66-030 Kamehameha Hwy. in Kawailoa. The structure will have ground-level parking and two upper levels for commercial use. Call 768- 8032.

* BON DANCE Mililani Hongwanji Buddhist Temple has its bon dance at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21-22 at 95-257 Kaloapau St. Call 625-0925.

* MOVIE NIGHT Waialua Community Association presents Kung Fu Panda for its free family movie night at 7 p.m. Aug. 21 at the WCA hall, 66-434 Kamehameha Hwy. Popcorn and drinks are 50 cents each. Call 637-4606.

* NIGHT WALKS Waimea Valley offers a monthly night walking tour at 6:30 p.m.Aug. 29 with guide Lopaka Kapanui sharing folklore and legends of the area. Fee is $50 for adults and $35 for children ages 12 to 16 (no keiki under 12 allowed). Call 638-7766 for reservations.

* HULA Kumu hula Ali’i Manu conducts non-competitive hula classes (auana, kahiko and the aloha spirit) for the community at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Mililani Uka Elementary School. Men and women ages 15 and up are welcome. Call 478-2400.

*WAIMEA HIKES Waimea Valley offers a variety of hikes every Saturday, starting with registration at 8:30 a.m. at the visitor center. Fee is $5 or $10 plus park admission. A"leisurely stroll"among the park’s blooming plants and fruits is offered with no additional fee on the first and third Sunday of the month with botanical collections specialist David Orr. * STORIES Wahiawa Library has a free preschool storytime at 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday for ages 3-5. Call 622-6345.

* WAHIAWA MUSIC Higher Ground Cafe has live entertainment from 7:30 on various nights at 70 Kukui St., offering Jazz Night, Reggae Night, Open Mic and more. Call 622-0000.

* MEDITATION “Mindfulness Meditation” is conducted from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on each second Friday of each month at Mililani Hongwanji, 95-257 Kaloapau St. Call 625-1022.

* ART IN THE PARK Interested artists meet from 9 to 10 a.m. each Wednesday for self-directed drawing and painting at Wahiawa Botanical Garden. Call 621-5463.

* SURF CULTURE North Shore Surf and Cultural Museum is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day but Tuesday in the North Shore Marketplace, offering displays of vintage boards, posters and more.A donation is requested. Call 637-8888.

* ESCRIMA Patrick Delos Santos offers Kali Escrima classes in Filipino self-defense (stick fighting) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m. Saturdays at Mililani Waena Elementary School. Fee is $50 per month. Call 398-0119.

* LA LECHE La Leche League of Central Oahu meets at 10 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in Sgt. Yano Library at Schofield Barracks. All breast-feeding and expectant mothers are welcome. Call 888-2321.

* HALEIWA MARKET Haleiwa Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays at old Kamehameha Highway and the Bypass Road, offering more than 40 vendors with local products.Call 388-9696.

* WAIPIO MARKET Kaiser Waipio Clinic has a “fresh day” market of healthy food and produce from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Wednesdays at 94-1480 Moaniani St. Call 432-2270.

* MILILANI MARKET Mililani High School hosts a Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. Sundays in the gym parking lot. Call 848-2074.

* NORTH SHORE MARKET North Shore Country Market runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at Sunset Beach Elementary School.

* MOMS The Central Oahu Moms Club invites stay-at-home mothers and their keiki to its activities. Call 218-8524.

* YOGA Jasmine Yoga offers classes for all ages at Weinberg Community Center in Waialua. Call 561-9639.

* TOASTMASTERS The Pineapple Toastmasters Club meets at 7 p.m.on the first and third Thursday of the month at Wahiawa District Park. All those interested in improving their public speaking are welcome to join. Call Don or Elaine at 622-0169.
