* VETERANS MARCH The 64th annual Wahiawa Veterans Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Kaala Elementary School and ends at 1 p.m. at Wahiawa District Park with a patriotic program and craft fair.Call 621-0115 or 306-1876.

* BASEBALL SIGNUPS Central Oahu Youth Baseball League conducts signups from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Mililani Ike Elementary School for all age divisions.Bring proof of birth date. For fees and details,go to http://www.mililanibase-ball.org.

* SILENT MEDITATION “Mindfulness Meditation” is offered from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Nov.13 at Mililani Hongwanji, 95-257 Kaloapau St. The program is a guided, silent and walking meditation based on the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition. Call 625-1022.

* STAR PARTY Hawaiian Astronomical Society hosts a public Star Party at sundown Nov.14 at Dillingham Airfield, bringing telescopes and special knowledge to share about the stars. Call 737-4742.

* WARRIOR BUS The UH Football Express shuttles fans from Mililani to Aloha Stadium and back Nov. 14 for the New Mexico State game, Nov. 28 for Navy and Dec. 5 for Wisconsin. For details, call Roberts Hawaii at 954-8625.

* NIGHT WALKS Waimea Valley offers a monthly night walking tour at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 with guide Lopaka Kapanui sharing folklore and legends of the area. Fee is $50 for adults, $40 kamaaina and military, and $35 for children ages 12 to 16. (No keiki under 12 are allowed.) Call 638-7766 for reservations.

* NEIGHBORS Wahiawa Neighborhood Board meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at Wahiawa District Park; Mililani Mauka meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 at Mililani Mauka Elementary School cafeteria, the North Shore board meets at 7 p.m. Nov. 24 at Haleiwa Alii Beach Park, and Mililani-Waipio-Melemanu meets at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25 at Mililani Rec Center III. * CHILDREN’S COUNCIL Central District Community Children’s Council meets at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 at Leilehua Golf Course dining area.All parents of children with special needs are welcome. Call Jane at 655-4777.

* PARENT WORKSHOP Mililani Middle and High schools sponsor a free parent workshop at 5:30 p.m.Nov.18 in the middle school cafeteria to address students’ academic plans, especially for military children. Call Kathy at 626-7360, ext. 520.

* WAENA FAIR Mililani Waena Elementary presents a Wild and Wacky Walkabout Fun Fair from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19 featuring lessons learned in the new science lab plus games and demonstrations. Call 627-7300.

* PROPAGATION CLASS Wahiawa Botanical Garden conducts a class in basic techniques of plant propagation at 9 a.m.Nov.20 at the park.Call 621-5463.

* MOVIES, DANCE Waialua Community Association screens the free family film UP at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 in historic Haleiwa gym. Popcorn and drinks are 50 cents each.A free dance open to all ages, Barefoot Boogie, is set for 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 21. Call 637-4606.

* BLOOD DRIVES Hawaii Blood Bank has donor drives from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at Mililani Town Center and from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at Wahiawa General Hospital. Call 845-9966.

* DOG ADOPTIONS Hawaii Dog Foundation has a"meet and greet” from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at Mililani Mauka Dog Park so prospective adoptive families can get acquainted with the foundation’s homeless dogs. Call 782-8387.

* ART WALK The monthly Haleiwa Art Walk runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 28 in Haleiwa town, featuring sales, activities and events hosted by dozens of merchants. Call 637-2284.

* HULA Kumu hula Ali’i Manu conducts non-competitive hula classes (auana, kahiko and the aloha spirit) for the community at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Mililani Uka Elementary School. Men and women ages 15 and up are welcome. Call 478-2400.

*WAIMEA HIKES Waimea Valley offers a variety of hikes for visitors every Saturday and Sunday, plus themed walks, crafts, music, games or storytelling every weekday, Let’s Speak Hawaiian on Mondays and Fridays, and much more. Call 638-7766.

*STORIES Wahiawa Library has a free preschool storytime at 10:30 a.m. each Wednesday for ages 3-5. Call 622-6345.

* FIT MOMS Strollerstrides offers a fitness program for mothers who can get in shape, accompanied by their young children. Classes are 8:45-10 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday at Central Oahu Regional Park. Call 258-0402.

* HALEIWA MARKET The Haleiwa Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays at old Kamehameha Highway and the Bypass Road. The event offers more than 40 vendors with locally grown or made products. Call 388-9696.

* WAIPIO MARKET Kaiser Waipio Clinic hosts a “fresh day” market of healthy food and produce from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.each Wednesday at 94-1480 Moaniani St. Call 432-2270.

* MILILANI MARKET Mililani High School has a Farmers Market from 8 to 11 a.m. Sundays in the gym parking lot. Call 848-2074.

* NORTH SHORE MARKET North Shore Country Market runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.Saturdays at Sunset Beach Elementary School.

* ESCRIMA Patrick Delos Santos offers Kali Escrima classes in Filipino self-defense (stick fighting) at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m. Saturdays at Mililani Waena Elementary School. Fee is $50 per month. Call 398-0119.

* TOASTMASTERS The Pineapple Toastmasters Club meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Thursday at Wahiawa District Park. Call Don or Elaine at 622-0169.
