Below are some highlights of what’s happening in the Central Oahu community over the next few weeks.

* Haleiwa Art Gallery presents artists Mark Cross and Mihoko Jan. 10-25 at 66-252 Kamehameha Hwy. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Call 637-3368.

* A Bestseller Reading Group meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 10, and Romance Readers Anonymous meet at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at Borders Waikele.

* The Mililani YMCA holds an open house from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 13 to showcase its new fitness center equipment. Call 675-1040.

* Intuitive Entertainment presents Psychic Fairs at the Town Center of Mililani from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 13 and 14 and a weekend each month in 2007. For details, call 239-2574.


* The Hawaii Blood Bank conducts donor drives from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 15 at Wahiawa General Hospital; from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at Mililani High School; and from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Mililani Town Center. Call 845-9966.

* Deadline is Jan. 16 to file as a candidate for the neighborhood board elections, to be held in March. People must also register to vote by Jan. 16 in the elections. For applications and details, call the Neighborhood Commission at 527-5749.

* Area neighborhood boards meeting this month include Mililani Mauka-Launani Valley at 7 p.m. Jan. 16 at Mililani Mauka Elementary; Wahiawa at 7 p.m. Jan. 22 at Wahiawa District Park; North Shore at 7 p.m. Jan. 23 at Alii Beach Park; and MililaniWaipio-Melemanu at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 at Mililani Rec. * Eileen Kelleher-Ornelles presents “Understanding Advance Directives” at 10 a.m. Jan. 24 at Kaiser’s Waipio Clinic. The Senior Summit program is open to the public and will focus on end-of-life decisions. Call 432-2235.

* The Institute for Family Enrichment offers a free 12-session parenting course beginning at 6 p.m Jan. 24 in Mililani. Call Mandy Spencer at 596-8433.

* The state Board of Education holds a community forum at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Kaala Elementary School cafeteria in Wahiawa. All those involved with the Leilehua, Mililani and Waialua Complex schools are welcome to attend, listen and comment on public education concerns. Call 856-3349.


* North Shore Artists Studio Tour - a team of six artists from Turtle Bay to Kaena Point - open their studios to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Tuesday. For details, call 637-8934 or log onto www.hawaiinorthshoreartists.com

* The Central Oahu Moms Club invites stay-at-home mothers and their children to come join in its activities. Call 218-8524.

* W Performing Arts offers painting, and children’s classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap dancing at 823 Olive Ave. in Wahiawa. Call 779-8709.
